Taq DNA Polymerase
Polymerase Chain Reaction, most commonly known as PCR, is a technique based on the ability of DNA polymerase to synthesize complementary DNA strand to the given template strand. It allows amplification of very small sample or a short segment of DNA into millions and billions of copies rapidly.
ProEnz Pro Taq DNA polymerase is a thermostable enzyme purified from the expression product of E. coli strain that carries the polA gene from Thermus aquaticus. This unmodified enzyme replicates DNA at 72°C and exhibits half-life at 95°C.
Taq DNA polymerase catalyzes the polymerization of nucleotides into duplex DNA in 5’ to 3’ direction in the presence of magnesium. It possesses 5’ to 3’ exonuclease activity.
